Slow Journal is an independent magazine created by the beautiful Jane Deane, honouring a slower way of life. I have been co-creating alongside Slow for over a year now and it has been such a magical ride and a deepening soul collaboration.
We laugh together. We dance together. We breathe together. We cry together. This shoot with the beautiful Alli from Held Heard Byron Bay, marks the beginning of a new offering from the depths of my heart–empowerment sessions. The cosmos are currently summoning us all to let out and integrate all of who we are in what we do, so here I am throwing my hands in the air and affirming ‘I am ready to be fully seen.’
What flowed on from there is a deep resounding reminder of why I do what I do, & the static, aliveness it brings. Running around like wild animals, giggling till bellies hurt & watching the sun go down as we played. All the while, my beautiful muse had a much needed dose of empowerment as she got to see reflected back to her, the radiance she brings to the world.
The beat of the drum, jolts the sacred fire in our bones. I was invited to participate & facilitate at this incredible embodiment retreat with physiotherapist & mind / body therapist, Kate Schubert. Oh there is something so entirely sacred about gathering in space with others in devotion & openness.
Thank you so much for having me, it was transformative & timely.
As I make my way up to the top of Boambee headland, coffee with me close by, a flock of red-tailed black cockatoos chant their magical song as they fly by the front of my car. It is in this moment, I know it’s going to be magic.
Chloe is glowing more & more each time I see her with her glowing baby belly. I love everything about capturing her & her little girl - Thea still snug & warm & safe in her mummas belly.
I don’t think there is anything more special than capturing yourself in full bellied-bloom.
the sun, the moon, the oceans
they shine from her eyes.
oh, how they have stories to tell
on love & trust & falling apart
finding wholeness over & over
from the wildest of lineages
catching her bright gaze
& gifted the deepest
breath I have felt in a long time.
10 years together & still so deeply in love…. I’m not crying, you are. We adventured (& giggled the whole time) around the backstreets of beautiful Yarraville, where they currently live & love together as a little family. There were so many amazingly funny moments, you’ll just have to feel it through these images.
Shona & Danni are two down-to-earth fellow dog mamas who from the moment I met them, we’re destined to be stuck with me as a friend! When we met over coffee, they spoke of dropping traditions & doing their day completely their way. I was like, yep…. sorry but you need to choose me as your photographer. They became wives in the lush & breathtaking promised lands.
The effortless flow of this day & this shoot reminded me of just how precious these fleeting moments are to capture. Raw, real, flowing. It doesn’t matter what you wear, how clean your home is, how ‘together’ you feel. It just matters that you show up as YOU.

This beautiful little family traveled all the way from Melbourne to where I now reside in the Coffs Coast for their engagement shoot. I’m a sucker for sunrises and feet-in-sand loving, so this was pure magic!
When feeling into how I want to write about this day, really words have failed me. It’s really safe to say that this love I witnessed in front of me is the kind of love that you don’t see in movies, because it’s so much better!

I was so honoured to be invited along to capture this unfolding, beautiful celebration of a birthday. These images speak so loudly of connection, joy, unconditional love. Here is a select few of my favourites. My favourite thing about this day is how together this family is, it truly is a rare site. Despite all, they choose to still come together in love.
There really are no words for the love that is so palpable within these photos. The afternoon spent with this beautiful family - Katy, Benji and their first daughter Charlie - was one I will never forget.
