Kirk + Chloe: a wedding in the trees
A year ago I discovered the family home + roots of this laid back, low maintenance & slow-natured couple. Each day I try & live simply & consciously but when I took my first drive out to their shack in the middle of trees & endless land to chat with them about their day I was taken aback by just how incredibly close & consciously they live with nature.
Both Kirk & Chloe shy away from any sort of limelight, but I think this is what makes them so special as a couple, & what makes their togetherness so sweet. Meeting each other in lower points in their lives, they have been like unexpected medicine to each other over the years. It is really by meeting others that new worlds are born.
I adore everything about this day & am over the moon I was the one that got to capture it.
Chloe got ready in the beautiful family home of Kirk, where they also got married. & Kirk got ready in their wonderful little cottage home at the other end of the property. It was forecast to rain all day & the storm clouds covered us just before the ceremony was meant to start.
I felt a slight panic in the air & hearts fluttered at the thought of the beautiful set up going to waste. I went out the front & started singing to the rain “rain rain, go away” over & over. I giggled at myself as I sung. I just had the deepest feeling that the rain would pass just as everyone started moving things inside. I swiftly walked over to the celebrant & asked if it’s okay that we wait 10 more minutes.
Just like that, the rain stopped.
